What a great inspiration!
I am so glad that I went to go see this documentary movie on Dean Karnazes! I read his book Ultra-Marathon Man last year and thought that he was kind of nutty, but cool nutty. Now I am totally inspired and I have another hero. 50 Marathons in each of the 50 States in 50 days! And then the man goes out and starts running west two days after the finish of the NY Marathon and a full day of press appearances and runs an additional 1.300 miles over 90 days back to St. Charles, MO where he started his journey. My coach has been asking me for years when I was going to do an ultra-distance run. I had thought about doing the Goofy Challenge at Walt Disney World, but each year it fills up as fast as an Ironman race and I missed out on running it. Well, now I have a new goal. I think that I am going to register for the Sunmart 50K race in December. I will have just finished the San Antonio Rock n' Roll Marathon and coming off of a taper it would be a natural ramp up in miles again and then add another taper for the Houston Marathon.
My husband will think I am nuts. Well, he already thinks that, but now I will be a certified nut job. WHOO HOO!!!! I am pumped!!!
Later Gators,
Liz

Don't do it! Don't go over to the dark side. Walk away from the light! My girlfriend has just started Ultras and it ain't pretty. My hero is the guy that invented the lazy-boy.
But Flatman said on his blog that I got a cookie if I went over to The Dark Side...
I want a cookie!
Noooooooooooooooo.
I'm calling in for an exorcism.
Actually, good on ya. Crazy women are cool.
I read his article in RW and to this short distance chick he seems a little nutto. ?I am the same girl who gets sick when there is too many triathletes in a room, obviously my issues.
LMAO that you want a cookie. I will bake you 50 one for eack K!!
You're gonna have to change your blog title to "Coach Liz's Amazing Ultra Adventure".
Suhweet! Ultra Liz... Very cool.
Sunmart is awesome!!! I'll do St. George in Oct, Ironstar in Nov, Sunmart in Dec, and Houston in January. Worked very well for me last year.
But where does it all end? First 50k? Then 50 miles. Then you'll be pining for that Western States 100 miler. Sick, just sick!
Next think we'll hear about some kinda ultra Iron Man. Then Double IM. Where will it end???
